Every worship song has a story, and Gracias is one of the most personal songs I have ever written.
This song was born from a season that tested our faith in ways we never imagined. While I was away on one of my mission trips, my wife was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Receiving that news while serving God was overwhelming. Every human emotion wanted me to stop everything and return home.
But in the middle of that uncertainty, the Lord spoke clearly to my heart.
He told me to continue serving Him, and He gave me a promise: my wife would be healed.
Trusting that promise was not easy. It meant choosing faith over fear, obedience over doubt, and God's Word over what the medical reports were saying. We prayed, believed, and continued to worship, even before we saw the miracle.
Four months later, God fulfilled His promise.
My wife was completely healed.
Gracias is our offering of thanksgiving to the Lord. It is a declaration of His faithfulness, His power to heal, and His unfailing love. Every lyric is an expression of gratitude to the God who keeps His promises and deserves all the glory.
This song is also a reminder that God's calling does not end when we face life's greatest trials. Sometimes, in the middle of the impossible, He asks us to keep walking in obedience because He is writing a greater story than we can see. When everything around us says there is no hope, God may already be preparing a testimony of healing, restoration, and victory.
Our prayer is that everyone who listens to Gracias will be encouraged to trust God's faithfulness, no matter what they are facing. Whether you are waiting for healing, believing for a miracle, or simply learning to trust Him one day at a time, remember that God is still faithful. His plans are greater than our fears, His timing is perfect, and His glory is revealed through those who continue to follow Him with unwavering faith.
"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His steadfast love endures forever."
Psalm 136:1
To God alone be all the glory.
¡Gracias, Señor, por Tu fidelidad!
¿Cómo no darte gracias?
¿Cómo no darte gracias,
si me has dado el aire que respiro?
Dios, eres todo, Jesús.
No me falta nada.
Jesús, eres todo,
todo, Jesús.
Mi corazón siempre dirá:
¡Cómo no darte gracias!
¿Cómo no darte gracias?
¿Cómo no darte gracias,
si me has dado
el aire que respiro?
Mi Jesús,
mi Jesús,
eres todo lo que necesito.
Tú, Jesús,
eres Tú, Jesús.
Mi corazón
siempre dirá:
¡Gracias!
